Get to know me
Some residents have made it clear to me that they
get a bit fed up with politicians going on all the time about the same
old things and I know what they mean - so do I!
Many of you said that apart from knowing what I
stand for you also wanted to learn a little about me. So here’s my
attempt at sharing the everyday side of my life which you don’t
normally see during local visits and meetings. Please see my biography for other details.
I moved to Surbiton in 1995 and live in
Cleaveland Road.
I live with my amazing wife, Emily, whom I
wed in the summer of 2005. Here is a picture of us enjoying the
wonderful day.
We have just been joined by our first child, John
Alban Davey. I cannot express how much I'm enjoying fatherhood.
I don’t get much spare time but, when I do, like
everyone else, there are always those jobs to do that just won’t go
away.
The nearest shops are just round the corner,
though I can't claim to like shopping much.
I like to get out to watch local sports teams as
often as I can and there have been some great days out in the past
couple of years, however, nothing recently compares to watching the K's
go to Wembley - twice, in 1999 and 2000.
I lost both my parents when I was still at school
but I have two older brothers whose aim in life seems to be taking the
micky out of me. For many years I also had my Nanna who I was very
close too. Unfortunately she has recently passed away, but I will
remember her for always telling me what the real issues of the day were
and always being great fun.
Putting this section together was a welcome break
from politics and also acted as a good reminder to me of some of the
things in my life that really matter.
If you ever need my help then please feel free to
contact me.
Best wishes
