"Don't
give up, giving up." - Edward Davey
Local
MP gives backing to charity helping smokers to give up.
Local MP Edward Davey has
urged all the Borough's residents that vowed to stop
smoking over the New Year, not to give up trying to stop
even if it has become almost unbearable.
This is because help is at hand for reformed smokers in
the form of Quitline, a line specialising in help and
advice for smokers trying to kick the habit.
Edward Davey has signed an Early Day Motion in the
Commons showing his support for this vitally important
charity which at its fourth anniversary has helped over
1.5 million people to give up.
Edward said,
"I know from
friends and family how hard it can be to give up. Many
turned to Quitline when things got really bad and they
haven't smoked now for almost two years."
"The counsellors are really well trained and have
helped hundreds of people before. So, if ex smokers are
feeling like they're not going to be able to stick to
their resolutions, then they should give Quitline a
call."
