The
British Transport Police must crack down on these
criminals - Davey
Commenting on the recent
'steaming' incident between New Malden and Norbiton
stations, when hooligans robbed some train passengers,
Edward Davey MP said:
"The British
Transport Police must crack down on these criminals.
"I will be asking the chief of operations for the
Transport Police, Mr. Paul Nicholas, for his plan of
action, and what help he needs from South West Trains.
"For South West Trains also need to make passenger
protection a top priority. They should consider on-train
cameras and a permanent guard presence.
"Coming after the recent "steaming"
incidents on trains on the Chessington South branch line,
it's clear the Transport Police and SWT need a more
concerted response."
