MP to meet London Transport to confirm the future of the K4

Local MP, Edward Davey, will be meeting Peter Bradley, the External Liaison Manager for London Transport Buses, this Friday to discuss the future of the K4 bus route.

The meeting has been arranged because passengers have written to Mr Davey warning that it may be scrapped. Concern has mounted because a new contract to run the K2 has been awarded to London United Buses. As part of the contract, it appears that London United has the option to amalgamate part of the K4 service, in the Chessington area, with the K2. Edward Davey will be pressing London Transport to ensure that the viability of both of these routes is not threatened.

Commenting on his meeting, Edward Davey said,

"Clearly for many elderly and disabled residents, the K4 is the only way they can get their shopping home."

"Therefore, it is vital that there continues to be a bus service covering these areas in the long term and I will make sure London Transport Managers are made very aware of our concerns."
