FAIR DEAL FOR KINGSTON!

A fair deal for Kingston – that will be my demand in a special debate I’ve won in Parliament on Friday, 23rd February.

It will also be the demand of local residents joining me at Westminster that lunchtime, for a rally and demonstration to press our case.

What’s the problem? It’s that government gives our council much less grant than it gives other London Boroughs.

For every resident, Kingston got just £217 last year. The average London Borough got £493. Kensington and Chelsea got £578, whilst Hammersmith and Fulham enjoyed £630.

So what, you might say? Well, this grant is by far the biggest factor determining your council tax – so you should be concerned.
