Dear Peter Bradley

K4 - Kingston Hospital Link

I have received confirmation from local council officers that the above link from Chessington to Kingston Hospital is due to finish. From our discussion at our last meeting, this comes as quite a surprise.

You may remember that you confirmed that you had no preference for either of the proposals being suggested and wanted to hear the publics' and councillors' views on these proposals. You may also recollect that at the time I expressed a strong preference for maintaining the K4 link to Kingston Hospital as a new health clinic is due to open very shortly at the end of the route to Chessington.

My position has not changed and I have canvassed the opinions of users and local councillors. I have been unable to find anyone that supports the K4 terminating in Kingston town centre. As a result, I would be very interested to know on what basis this decision has been made.

Finally, if there is not significant evidence that the K4 users are in favour of this hospital link being removed then I would appreciate it if you would ensure that the K4 is allowed to continue running to Kingston Hospital.

From our good relations in the past couple of years, I can only assume that there has been an oversight in planning these changes and I look forward to your clarification of this position at your earliest convenience.

Yours sincerely

Edward Davey MP
