Edward Davey, Lib Dem MP for Kingston and Surbiton, will today welcome over 30 of his constituents to Parliament as part of the massive Trade Justice Lobby. The lobby aims to promote greater fairness in world trade, so poorer countries are not discriminated against.

Edward Davey and the Liberal Democrats are giving strong support to today's Trade Justice Lobby. Edward Davey, along with all the other Lib Dem MPs, will be handing over thousands of postcards from constituents supporting fair rules for world trade to the Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Charles Kennedy MP.

Edward Davey commented:

"I have received hundreds of postcards, letters, e-mails and phone calls about this lobby.

"Many local residents feel passionately that action is need for trade justice. I strongly share their concerns and am delighted so many are joining this important day of action.

Due to the large number of local residents joining the lobby, Mr.Davey has booked a special meeting room at the House of Commons and will debate with his constituents there between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Many more are expected to join the lobby after Prime Minister's Questions and Edward Davey will be going outside to meet them at 3.30 p.m.

Edward Davey added:

"People often don't realise that fair access to trade markets is actually worth more to developing countries than direct aid. This lobby should go a long way to raising awareness and hopefully getting some action by Governments across the developed world.

"Anyone wanting to join this huge new campaign can either write to me at the Commons or visit the campaign's website - www.tradejusticemovement.org.uk."
