MP & Staff "Wear it Pink"

31.10.05

Liberal Democrat MP for Kingston and Surbiton, Edward Davey, showed his support for the Breast Cancer Campaign (BCC) today by ‘wearing it pink®’.

On the last Friday in Breastcancer Awareness Month, people up and down the country are wearing an item of pink and donating £2 to the charity to fund independent breast cancer research in the UK.

Edward Davey, who sported a pink shirt and tie for the event, said,

“Every year over 13,000 people in the UK die from breast cancer. I’ve had friends and relatives who have suffered with breast cancer. That’s why I’m urging people to back the campaign. The money raised on this day is essential for the Charity, as it will continue to help fund its breast cancer research at centres of excellence across the country.”
