Davey Takes Surgery
to the Streets
30.10.06
After the success of
his first ever Street Surgery, which took place over the summer, Edward
Davey
MP held another on Friday evening in Chessington.
Edward Davey, Liberal
Democrat MP for Kingston and Surbiton, already puts many of his
parliamentary
colleagues to shame by holding two advice surgeries each week - one
every
Monday at his constituency office in Surbiton and the second in another
part of
the constituency. Edward and his team
visited Moor Lane,
Station
Road
and Rhodrons Avenue,
in Chessington. Residents received a
leaflet before to tell them he would be calling and inviting them to
speak to
him if they wished to, which of course many did.
Edward
Davey said, “I
believe it is very important that, as Kingston
and Surbiton’s MP, constituents are able to chat with me about their
concerns,
whether it is a national issue or a local problem which they feel I
could
possibly help to solve. That’s why I
hold two advice surgeries each week. I
believe that it is important that I meet as many constituents as possible and hear their concerns – these
street surgeries are another way to meet even more residents.”
If you are not a
resident of Moor Lane,
Station
Road
or Rhodrons Avenue
but would like to chat to Edward Davey, please come to one of his other
advice
sessions or contact him by email at daveye@parliament.co.uk
or by calling his casework team on 020 8288 0296 who will be able to
help with
any issue.
