Edward Davey visits the Kingston Orchard Project
Kingston and Surbiton MP Edward Davey visited the Kingston Orchard Project on Friday 14th September. Mr Davey met with the project co-ordinator, Anna Kwilecka and a number of volunteers including those from Kingston eco-op and and the Kingston branch of The Challenge.
The Kingston Orchard Project is located on the Knollmead allotments site in Tolworth. It is an agroforestry initiative that involves communities in growing food using a range of traditional and experimental techniques. They hold regular working sessions on Saturdays for those who would like to get involved.
Mr Davey said “It’s good to see this excellent project bringing back land into productive use, and doing so in such an ecological way.
"By involving young people and other organisations in the Borough. Kingston’s Orchard Project is a real grassroots venture.”
