Edward Davey MP visits Kingston Young Carers
Kingston and Surbiton MP Edward Davey visited Kingston Young Carers on Friday 2nd November where they were putting on a sports day at Tiffin Girls School as a part of their half term activities programme. Mr Davey met with Liz Grimwood who works for Young Carers, a member of the board of trustees and a number of Young Carers who are supported by the project.
Kingston Young Carers Project supports young people across Kingston Borough who care for a member of their family who suffers with illness, a physical disability, a learning difficulty, a sensory impairment or drug or alcohol problems. Mr Davey said “The work done by Young Carers not just in Kingston Borough but across the UK really does need acknowledging. Kingston Young Carers does a fantastic job supporting families and Young Carers across the borough, I was delighted when they were selected as a Mayor’s charity and I hope they receive the support they deserve from this.”
