EDWARD DAVEY MP URGES RESIDENTS TO ‘BUILD A BRIDGE’ FOR HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY 2013
Kingston and Surbiton MP Edward Davey has urged local residents to ‘Build a Bridge’ for Holocaust Memorial Day 2013 which takes place on Sunday 27th January.
‘Communities together: Build a Bridge’ is the theme for this year's Holocaust Memorial Day, to remind people of the communities which were destroyed during the Second World War and subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. By taking inspiration from the past and remembering what has gone before, we can ensure a safer future for all. Local residents can take part by visiting http://buildabridge.hmd.org.uk/
Commenting, Edward Davey said,
“Holocaust Memorial Day Trust do a fantastic job of increasing awareness, not only of the persecution which took place under the Nazis but of subsequent genocides as well.
“I urge local residents to get involved in marking Holocaust Memorial Day 2013 to help ensure that we never forget the atrocities which occurred.”
